From January 1st, 2023, to December 31st, 2023, homeowners in Windsor can participate in the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+) Program for Ontario Heat Pump Rebates, which is a government initiative that aims to reduce energy consumption and emissions in Canada. By upgrading their outdated furnaces or air conditioning units to high-efficiency central or ductless heat pump systems, homeowners can receive a cheque for up to $10,600.
Heat pumps are a more efficient alternative to traditional heating systems as they transfer heat from one location to another instead of generating heat from fuel or electricity. This reduces energy consumption and carbon emissions, contributing to a greener environment.

To take advantage of the rebate, homeowners must have an energy audit done by a Registered Energy Advisor (REA) from Energy Werx Windsor. The REA will assess your energy usage and recommend the best heat pump system for you.
A qualified energy advisor must install the heat pump, and both the indoor and outdoor units must be new and in good working order. To receive the rebate, the application and supporting documents, including the invoice, must be submitted within six months of the invoice date.
